Bottle from Appellation Wines. Black body with a dense tan head. Faint lacing. Aroma of coffee, toffee and milk chocolate. Flavour of chocolate, candy and a sweet berry finish. Medium body with a creamy mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Wow - this is really good.

Bottle from Appellation Wines. Hazy amber/brown body with a thin off-white head - it’s very dark for a Pale Ale. Faint lacing. Aroma of caramel and burnt orange. Flavour of fig, blood orange and earthy hops. Thin to medium body with a smooth texture. Prickly fizz. The flavours are rich and well balanced.

Bottle thanks to Euan, the brewer. Appearance - close to opaque black with a lovely crema head. Nose - luscious dark yet creamy chocolate, caramel and honeycomb. Taste - more of the Crunchie bar stuff going on. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long and dry but elegant finish. Overall - lovely porter.
