Description
Platform was founded in 2014 on the premise that collaboration should be at the cornerstone of everything that we do. Whether it be with pro brewers, the home brewing world or a variety of other industries, beer is special and should be shared.
From humble beginnings, brewing on a 3 bbl brewhouse in Cleveland, Platform has expanded to a second Tasting Room in Columbus, a Production Facility in Cleveland, a Cincinnati Tasting Room named LOCOBA and a Sour Beer Facility named Phunkenship

We brew high-quality craft beers for sale in our tasting rooms and distribute throughout Ohio. Expect a mix of ever-changing styles inspired by beer trends.

12 ounce can into pint glass, canned on 11/22/2017. Pours slightly hazy medium golden yellow color with a 2 finger fairly dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice thick foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of lemon, orange, grapefruit, peach, pear, melon, red apple, citrus peel/zest, pepper, pine, toasted bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and moderate bready malt notes; with good strength. Taste of big lemon, orange, grapefruit, peach, pear, melon, red apple, citrus peel/zest, pepper, pine, toasted bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel, herbal, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of lemon, orange, grapefruit, peach, pear, melon, red apple, citrus peel/zest, pepper, pine, toasted bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy/sticky, fairly crisp, and lightly resinous balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 5.1%. Overall this is an excellent single hopped American pale ale. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink with the modestly bitter/dryness finish, never aggressive. Great balanced dank and vibrant hop complexity; nice bready malt backbone, with no residual sweetness. Only my second experience with Loral hops, but definitely better than the Ghost Hammer was to me. This was more vibrant on citrus/fruit and not overly earthy/spicy on the hops. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.

Sample at Kraft House No. 5. The beer is a slightly hazy reddish-orange color with a thin pinkish-white head that evaporates quickly to a thin outer ring. Short strings of lace. Aroma of berry, yeast and citrus. Light-bodied with flavors of raspberry wine, yeast, citrus and doughy malt. The finish is mildly tart with a vinous oak and raspberry aftertaste. Decent overall.

Light-moderate increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp, bready/grainy/sticky, and fairly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol for 7.07%. Overall this is a very nice NEIPA. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and easy to drink; despite the fairly aggressively bitter/drying finish. Great mix of dank, vibrant, and earthy hop complexity; nice bready malt backbone, with no residual sweetness. Simcoe, Amarillo, Comet, Citra, Calypso hops; plus Conan yeast. Very unique hop profile.
