Bottle - clear dark ruby, moderate lace - creamy texture - presents more like a dubbel - medium-dry and nutty at first, followed by a moderate malt richness on the tail end, with some dusty yeast character that gives strong Westmalle vibes - the well-masked alcohol and medium-full body contribute to the more dubbel-like presentation - a wee bit of dark fruit (raisin and plum) - moderate spice - strong bitterness on the tail end is far too high for the style - it’s not the greatest rendition of the style, but hits enough of the right notes to satisfy, even if not as a quad.

Bottle - lightly hazy dark gold - nose is yeasty, spicy, moderately estery - soft carbonation - flavor is medium sweet, but then dries out him the finish, which has a moderate bitterness and lively peppery spice - light minerality - moderate fruity esters and a floral bitterness throughout that is complimented by the peppery phenols at the end - those threaten to become too much on the tail end, but avoid getting abrasive - just a tad too sweet, but otherwise a solid rendition.

375ml bottle, 2024 vintage. Dark fruit aroma with notes of honey, spicy Belgian yeast, caramel, toffee and Candi sugar. Pours cloudy caramel colored with half a finger of tan head that has good retention and excellent lacing. Starts with dark fruit, caramel and Candi sugar flavors as well as having a rich, full body and smooth mouthfeel. Finishes quite smooth with toffee, honey and spicy Belgian yeast flavors. Excellent Belgian dark strong that hides the high ABV well.
