Can from the brewery. Dark amber pour, medium to large off white head. Dry bready, yeasty malty aroma, subtle fruit, with some dry grassy hops. Mouth feel is nice, subtle carb. Finish is dry, yeasty, with some nice ripe fruit, and slight warming alcohol.

Hazy orange pour, with a small white head. Tropical fruit aroma, sweet malts, not much as far as hopping, some subtle grass. Full mouth feel, very soft carb. Finish is sweet, a touch of twang, with an apple finish. Lacks some bite, the beer feels too muddled, and needs to be a little more crisp, and bright.

Re rate. After seeing a message from the brew master that this beer needed a few more days to condition in the can, I set them aside. Well it’s been a week, and this is a totally different beers. Slight funk, dried grass, light tropical fruit, a nice peppery finish with some nice citrus zest. A quality saison.

Cask days 2014.
Hazy orange, medium white head. Super sticky real out pine nose, zero malt just pine, some citrus zest and booze. Sticky, viscous mouth feel, with a super soft carb. Finish is not as bitter as expected, with a very piney, soapy finish. Some citrus comes through, but it’s minimal, and the malt is there just enough to make this drinkable. As it warms the alcohol rears it’s head. A good effort.

Murky brown pour, with a medium beige head. Aroma is very hop forward, loads of pine resin, but alot of tropical fruit, and some solid caramels and a light nuttiness. Good body, good carb, with some medium to high bitterness. The finish is quite fruity, citrus zest, fresh tropical fruit hop cones. Really nice.

Bottle from the brewery.
Jet black, medium mocha head. Big roasty aroma with a solid dose or coffee and a slight tang. Silky mouth feel, soft carb. The finish is where this beer shines. The sour fruit really come through, and mingle beautifully with the strong roasty notes. Dangerously drinkable for 9.5, a great stout.

Tart berries, slightly buttery, grassy hops, a little bready malts. Low bitterness, tart berry finish, nothing mind blowing, but decent.

Tap at the brewery tap room.
Dark brown, almost black, but a slight ruby hue, with a medium mocha heat. Good roast aroma, charred malts, solid dark coffee. No heat, of cayenne found at all. Cocoa in the finish, ample amounts of coffee, with some light soy, again, no pepper at all.
