A lightly golden amber ale with a thin off white head. In aroma, a sweet fruity malt with light maple fudge, orange pulp, quite nice. In mouth, a sweet vinous malt with light nutty vanilla, light fudge, interesting. Bottle at Mondial 2012, June 10 2012.

A nice golden ale with a thin creamy off white head. In aroma, a nice herbaceous malt with grassy hop notes, a bit of Brett. In mouth, a smooth herbal malt , Orval like, with grassy hops, a bit funky, very nice. On tap at Mondiale 2012, June 8 2012.

Doesn’t smell like much, a little grass. Taste has a little sourness, a little grass. A tiny bit of bubblegum. A very light beer - could almost be a lager, it’s not very well done for the style. There’s sourness in the aftertaste as well. Pours blond, decent lacing. There’s a little fruitiness I guess. On tap at Saint Bock.

Aromas are not sticking out much. Very slight cinnamon, anise and caramel. Alcohol is there too. Appearance: Brown with red accents, extremely clear, creamy beige head, generous, but with no lacing. Attack is very smouth with a mix of honey and caramel. Too much honey, it’s masking all other flavors. Very sweet beer. All honey. No bitterness at all.

Very light caramel. Aromas are not sticking out a lot. Appearance: Black with reddish accents, very small head and diminishing fast. Flavors: Very dry attack with a slight hoppy taste. Caramel and malt flavors are still discreet. A very surprising taste of hop.Very ordinary porter with hop sticking out.

A symphony of aromas with notes of citrus, orange, banana, spices and pepper. Typical non filtered cloudy appearance. Color is golden and head is almost absent. Very warm and round mouthfeel. Malt is perfectly roasted with accents of orange, cinnamon and pepper. The texture is creamy and it reminds me of a liquor called ’’triple sec’’. Very complex beer and very well balanced. A very good trappist inspiration beer.

Bouteille 341ml. De couleur dorée-cuivrée et claire. Nez de levures fruitées (agrumes sucrées, faibles traces de poires) et épicées (coriandre, léger de gingembre), de pain avec des notes de miel ainsi que des traces d’alcool. Moyene-ronde en bouche avec un pétillement moyen-bas mais un peu croustillante ainsi qu’une texture moyennement huileuse et légèrement crémeuse. Goût de levures épicées (coriandre, léger de gingembre, notes de poivre) et moyennement fruitées (agrumes sucrées) lors de l’entrée en bouche auquel se rajoute un goût de pain sucré avec des notes de grains de céréales sucrées et de miel puis en finale l’o retrouve un léger goût d’alcool réchauffant accompagné d’une légère amertume de houblon floral et herbeux. Post-goût moyen-long, composé d’un goût de levures épicées et légèrement fruitées (zeste d’agrumes) avec un léger goût d’alcool et quelques notes de houblon.

Fruity and spicy aromas with cinnamon, butter caramel, lemon and pepper. Cinnamon is dominant accent. Lightly cloudy, sparkling copper. Average head, creamy, good lacing and average lasting. Taste is a bit acid long lasting in mouth but is compensated with nice cinnamon and field berries flavors. Mix of acidity and sugar is quite accomplished. Pour ceux qui ne seraient pas repoussés par une légère acidité, les petits fruits et les épices sont bien dosées.

Bottle: Poured an amber color ale with a large white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of medium bitter hops notes with light pine notes also noticeable. Taste is a mix between some medium bitter notes with light pine notes and some dry caramel malt notes also noticeable. Body is about average with good carbonation. Not bad overall but a bit more floral hoppy notes would improve this beer.

Very complex hoppy aromas, very citrus; notes of lemon, grapefruit, orange, lime, ginger. We also find pine accents and a very slight caramel. Lightly cloudy golden color with very creamy head, good lacing and long lasting. Flavors are hoppy all over with accents of citrus, orange, grass and other ones found in aromas.Caramel is sober with a slight roasted accent. Hops are sharp and long lasting in mouth. Comme la description sur la bouteille l’indique, le malt et l’alcool ont été gardés sous controle afin de laisser libre cours à l’expression du houblon. Un nez très relevé, un visuel parfait et un festival de houblon; voila les trois caractéristiques de cette pale ale américaine pour mieux la définir.
