Bottle as part of a 1000 yen set direct from the brewery. It pours an opaque straw gold with a fizzy white head. A decent yeasty nose gesturing a food dose of cloves. A smooth medium bodied beer with nice wheat flavor, tangy fruity yeast notes and that dash of cloves. Not bad but I feel this was the weakest of the set, just ok.

Bottle direct from the brewery as part of a 1000 yen set. Best Before October, 6th 2014 so probably fairly fresh. It pours a clear gold with a slight copper tint. A nice fruity tropical citrusy hop bouquet with a decent malt background. Medium-full bodied with a fairly soft mouthfeel. As with the alt the taste is quite malty, I’m getting that toasty oats type of graininess with mild citrus from the hops. Not outstanding but a satisfying Pale Ale that is like a mild APA more than a cloyingly sweet English Pale Ale. From the trash talk I heard about this brewery I was expecting much worse. Maybe they got their stuff together?

Bottle direct from the brewery as part of a 1000 yen set. It pours a clear ruby brown with a thick fizzy beige head that leaves no lacing behind. This beer was a bit of a gusher when opened. A nice nutty aroma with a dash of chalkiness & toffee. Smooth medium-full bodied with a malt forward flavor of toasted oats, graham, crackers, light caramel & nuts. Actually better than I expected, then again after that terrible Tsumagoi beer this one shines in comparison!

Bottle. Very dark brown with orange tints. Dark for an alt, but with a nice, thick head. Aroma of caramel malts and minerals, some grass. Nicely malty but a bit dry. Appetizing. Nice rich caramel malt flavor, some minerals and metal, and just a touch of unwanted vegatables, though after their last two infected messes, this comes across as a godsend. Slightly sweet, but with an earthy and dry finish. More like a brown ale. Decent. Wow, they can do something nice.

Bottled. Fruity wheat aroma with peach, pineapple, and some citrus as well as banana and clove. Not a typical weizen nose, but fresh and fruity. Cloudy medium gold color with a low head. Grainy wheat flavor, lemon, banana, pineapple. Rather muddy finish, malty yet not all that sweet. Light, thin body. Not infected like their last one, just dull. Drinkable, though.

Bottle. Cyonmage PA 6/3/5/3/12 Spicy, hoppy nose with rich caramel and a bit of chocolate underneath. Cinnamon nutmeg along with citrus and grass. decent. No DMS this time around. Light malt flavor, caramel, not very distinctive, and the hops go down a bit from the nose as well. A touch of citrus and a little bitterness, and some veggies. Light and crisp body. Better than my last infected one, but not great. 2011: 3/2/4/3/7 DMS cream corn nose. Some grassy hops, a touch of caramel. Dull copper color with lace. Citrus hops, caramel, creamed corn flavor. Rather sweet malts, ok hops, nice prickly finish. Could be an all right PA if not for the off flavor. I’m sick of infected J micros! Seems like Douglass88 also had an infected one, though not as bad as this. Shit!
