330ml bottle found in Hi-Time Wine, Costa Mesa (but a date on the bottle says 20.07.20, hope that means it's brew date not best before). Anyway I enjoyed the beer on 21st December 2021 in Laguna Hills, my first from Yamaguchi. Deep golden body, white affair on top. The nose and taste held caramel/malty notes first and foremost, the light hop content was enough to stop the brew being too sweet or one dimensional.

On tap at the Griffon Shinjuku. A hazy brown with an eggshell colored head. Aromas of grain and toasted caramel with some light floral hops. Taste has some light chocolate. Some creaminess in the mouthfeel (oats maybe?). Not bad at all and the chocolate bit was very unexpected. --- Beer merged from original tick of Cyonmage Pale Ale on 14 Aug 2015 at 23:09 - Score: 5

Bottle from Setagaya Summer Festival 2015. Pours darker amber, almost brown. Nice and persistent foam head. Aroma is full of toffee, darker malts, bit of caramel. Actually smells for me more like a brown ale than an altbier. Taste has surprisingly a lot of body, nice malt caramel. Aftertaste sort of disappears and does not carry on as well as everything else did in the beginning but still, solid beer!

Bottle from Setagaya Summer Festival 2015. Looks somewhat white, hazy. Aroma has a lots of wheat, not too sour. Taste is also very wheat - but again, clean and nothing really bad to say about it. Good for drinking, just not special in any way. In a hot summer evening, this is what you actually want.

Bottle at Setagaya Summer Festival 2015. Aroma has a bit of freshness, simple and malty. Taste is not bad, relatively clean, some fruits and quite dry. Bitterness is also there, making my swigs from the bottle nicely thirst quenching. Simple pale ale, works.

light amber color. Frothy white head. Two row pale malt, mineral nose that is lightly hopped. The mouth continues on that lightly hopped theme, as does the flavor. Very boring, though certainly not poorly made. Possibly a good brewer who is held back by management from reaching his potential.

(Bottle) Clear brown with short lived loose cola-like head. Subtle and quite pleasant aroma - toasty, caramel, hints of cardboard. Light body, decent carbonation. Taste is toffee with some darker toasty notes and some, slightly harsh, bitterness. Pretty acceptable beer.

Bottle. Brown with a frothy beige head. Aroma of toasty caramel and spices. Smooth, medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Sweet and quite chocolatey with some bread. Low bitterness with a very little pepper at the end. Pleasant enough.
