Description
Collective Arts Brewing is a grassroots craft brewery that aims to fuse the creativity of craft beer with the inspired talents of emerging artists and musicians. Collective Arts Brewing was founded on two beliefs: The first that creativity fosters creativity. And the second, that creativity yields delicious pints. We feature limited-edition works of art on our beer cans and labels, and we work to make sure the liquid on the inside is as diverse and creative as the artists we profile. Our brewery is located in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. This is where we brew everything from our flagship IPA Ransack the Universe to our World Beer Cup-winning Stranger than Fiction porter. In our taproom we pour up to 10 different beers at one time, samples and flights, we host brewery tours and live entertainment weekly. Stop by to see our beer bottle gallery showcasing every artist we’ve worked with over the past 6 years.

A hazed purple ale with a very thin rosey head. In aroma, sweet fruity mix of raspberry, cranberry, light Epsom salts, very nice. In mouth, tart mix of ground cherry, light lactic notes, raspberry, cranberry, pleasant.

355mL can, pours jet black with a small tan head. Aroma is full of deep coffee, big bourbon barrels, and some dark sugars. Flavour is aggressive as hell, with huge coffee notes, big boozy bourbon barrels, and almost a harsh, tart fruity character to it that detracts from the bourbon and coffee depth. Lacks a coherent malt depth, that tartness is a bit disconcerting; it’s pretty messy. It’s decent, but far from the heights of peak Origin of Darkness beers in the past.

355mL can. Pours black with a tan head. Loads of coffee and boozy bourbon barrels on the nose; broaching on green pepper territory. Flavour has a lot of intense bourbon barrels, lots of coffee. Not a whole lot of malt depth. It's not bad, but leans pretty heavily on intensity without much depth to back it up.

If I sampled this blind, I would have thought it was a nitro cold brew coffee.
