About
Collective Arts Brewing is a grassroots craft brewery that aims to fuse the creativity of craft beer with the inspired talents of emerging artists and musicians. Collective Arts Brewing was founded on two beliefs: The first that creativity fosters creativity. And the second, that creativity yields delicious pints. We feature limited-edition works of art on our beer cans and labels, and we work to make sure the liquid on the inside is as diverse and creative as the artists we profile. Our brewery is located in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. This is where we brew everything from our flagship IPA Ransack the Universe to our World Beer Cup-winning Stranger than Fiction porter. In our taproom we pour up to 10 different beers at one time, samples and flights, we host brewery tours and live entertainment weekly. Bottle from the LCBO. Hazy medium yellow under a small foamy quick fading white head. Nose is wheat and lemon with a hint of spice. Flavour is tart fruit with a nicely balanced saltiness. Body is medium and oily with lively carbonation and a short dry finish. 7+/3+/8/4/15

Can from Loblaws. Dark brown body with a medium off-white head. Faint lacing. Aroma of blackcurrant, pine and Twiglets. Flavour of pine, cocoa powder and brambles. Thin to medium body with a watery texture. Soft fizz. Heavy on the pine notes. Good.

Can from RCSS. Very cloudy dark amber with a small short lived tan head. Nose has Some moderate grain under a definite Citra mix of citrus, melon, lime, grapefruit and some stone fruit. Flavour has a lightly sweet toffee base with some spice under a moderate (and surprising for an amber) citrus bitterness. Mouth is medium- and slightly sticky with average- carbonation and a short dry finish. Quite drinkable. 8/3/7+/3+/14

Forge & Fire: West Coast Pale Ale from Collective Arts Brewing

Can from RCSS. Cloudy medium orange amber under a slow fading white head that leaves some patchy lace. Nose has lots of citrus, with grapefruit up front with some mango. lime and pineapple and some light floral notes. Underneath is a light honey and toffee. Flavour is not as robust as the nose with the citrus a bit more subdued with a medium- bitterness and a light supporting sweetness. Mouth is a touch short of medium with average carbonation and a moderately long bitter finish. Nice enough but not as tasty as the earlier offerings. 8/4-/7-/3+/15-

Can from RCSS. Clear pale gold with a tiny white head that doesn’t last. Nose is light caramel and lighter grassy hops. Flavour is light sweet caramel and fruit and a lighter bitterness with a bit of spice. Mouth is medium- and slick with a short crisp finish with very soft carbonation. From the other entries I’m guessing this can is a bit flatter than the norm. 6+/3-/3/3-/10+

Tap, left to warm to about 10C. Black with a lasting coat of tan head. Aroma of mocha, roast ,oranges - rich but bright. Just medium bodied, smooth rather silky. Not very sweet at all. Dark choc some black strap molasses, plunger coffee. Dry, slightly spicy and fairly bitter at end. Not fancy, just good. [3.8]Can. Slightly earthy, perhaps more chocolate. Plenty going on (particularly for 5.5%). Very satisfying. No tricks.

Can from RCSS. Red tinged black pour with a one finger dense lingering khaki head that leaves significant lace. Nose has a ton of roasted malt, smoke, molasses, dark chocolate, coffee and a big pine and citrus hop presence. Flavour is lightly sweet molasses with a big bitterness of dark chocolate and resin that hangs around through the long finish. Mouth is medium+ and oily with above average carbonation and a lingering dry bitter finish. 8+/4/8-/4/16

Klar brun med fingerhøyt beige skum. Lukter fersken, ananas og noe karamell. Tung fruktig, fersken og ananas. Middels sitrus bitterhet, grape og skall.
