Bottle sold as Nikkoji. Aroma is sweet, malty, strange fruitiness. Taste is alright, but a bit unexciting. Sweet again, but not much else there. Bit of malt, but that's about it.

This is a bit of surprise. I totally forgot about this brewery as they generally make forgettable beers and as far as I know have never made a seasonal/one off beer. Light amber golden color. golden color. Minerally nose with some cherry and apple crumble. Balanced. Dry refreshing and bitter. A bit heavier than I want for a summer ipl but I like

Bought a 330ml bottle at Takashimaya near Osaka Namba. Very bitter with a lasting astringent aftertaste, not as fruity as I'd hoped for with Simcoe and Nelson Sauvin. Could be the flavor is overwhelmed by the bitterness - it's a dry IPA where I prefer balanced ones. Good robust color, decent head, sediment (bottle fermented?).

Dark brown colour. Mild fudgey aroma with slight roast. Medium body, a fair bit of sweetness, with some soy sauce character.

Bottle brought by S from Hong Kong. Best before 30 11 2017. Dark golden colour with an off white head. Nose is grassy and citrus. Flavour is grassy, citrus, some bitterness. Ok IPA:

Bottle - Orange and citrus with some caramel, cloudy gold with a decent white head. Bitter up front, some pith and cooked orange notes. Very bitter, but still OK.

Bottle from Corti Bros. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Sort of a dark treacle aroma. Chocolate hint. Med body almost. Flavor is dark burnt malt suggestive of that really old Guinness stout, with a transient sugary treacle suggestive of that McEwan’s Scotch Ale. Really an interesting and fairly tasty ale, tho it doesn’t seem "normal" for stout.

Tap at Vectory Factory. Light peach and floral notes on the nose. Caramel on the palate with bitter hops. Finishes pretty astringent and basically undrinkable. Needs a lot of work. --- Beer merged from original tick of Kujyukuri Ocean IPA on 12 May 2016 at 23:40 - Score: 5

33cl bottle from a supermarket in Tokyo. Pours clear, deep amber with a small, off-white head. Fruity and slightly floral aroma with notes of honey, hops and caramel. Medium sweet with a light acidity, fairly mild fruity and hoppy flavours and a balanced bitterness.
