Bottle pour from a 2014 bottle, L. Thal in Sachsenhausen. Nose is dry apples, honey, some caramel. Soft, silky body, aged but not oxidized. Sweet, rich, lusciuous. coming across a bit like an ice cider at this age. Didn’t notice the pear when I had it (didn’t know what it was), but now it makes sense. Wonderful.

Bottle pour at the cidery. This is not the big abv bomb I was expecting. Huge, juicy, condensed apple nose, fresh green apple, a bit of fresh cheese, like Camembert, very creamy. Flavor also creamy, cheese and apples, sweet, honey, a touch of caramel. Not as sweet as usual for the stlye, and not boozy, but definitely an ice cider feel to it. Rich, dense apple flavor. Great.

Bottle pour at the cidery. Deep honey golden color, bubbly. Huge, juicy apple nose, with some tropical fruit as well. Awesome. Sweet apple flavor, tropical fruit, minerals, honey. Lovely, fruity, nose at all cloying or over sweet. Lusciuous.

Bottle pour at the cidery. PAle to medium golden color with lace and bubbles. Rich, juicy apple nose, honey, light caramel. Sweet caramal apples comes out in the mouth, light acidity, dry finish. Great.

On tap at the cidery, from a big glass bulb. Very cloudy gold color, almost pastel, flat. Flowery, herbal nose, baked apples, honey. Dry and a bit dusty, minerals, apple skin. Very nice stuff. By far the most meorable (and pricy) of the draught ciders.

Draught at the cidery, from a big glass bulb. Pale gold, lightly hazy, flat. Tart apples in the nose, some tanin. Oily and tart, light vinegar, green apples, Nice but not as good as some of the other draught ciders.

Draught at the cidery. Paler gold than the house cider, almost clear. Fruity nose, apple, pear, honey. Minerally taste, light vinegar, apple, tart and dry.

Tap at the cidery. Hazy golden color, flat. Fruity nose od apple, light funk. Tart and dry, lightly funky, with a bit of sweetness too. Finishes tart and dry, refreshing. Better than average for this style, though nothing like their bottled varieties.

Süffiger, trocknen apfeliger Antrunk. Mild apfelig bitter, keine Süße, trocken bleibend. Wenig abwechslungsreich, spritzig, etwas laff. Okay. 10/8/9/8//8

Süß fruchtiger, eher saftiger Beginn. Minimale aber erkennbare Karbonisierung, süffig, rund. Spritzig apfelig, süßlich, rund. 10/9/10/10//9
