Draught at the brewery
Blond color, clean. It doesn’t have the off flavors of high gravity brewing macro Lagers, but it also doesn’t have any remarkable malt or hop flavor; very clean, quite dry.
I’m thinking I’m drinking the Lager (but the barman confirmed it’s the fresh hop)…

Black color, small head. Mild flavor and aroma of roasted malts, a bit ashy; super dry. Weak.
Nothing bad, but kind of useless.

On tap at Red Truck, pours a deep shaken down with a slight amber tinge and a small beige head. Aroma brings out lots of dry cocoa, along with a pronounced coffee quality to it. Flavour is very dry, with lightly bitter cocoa nibs characterizing this one. Very one-dimensional and thin. It's fine but super boring, as usual from Red Truck.

On tap at Red Truck, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma is very restrained on the leafy hops, with a dry biscuity malt backbone. Flavour is along the same lines, with a very fresh leafy hoppiness upfront that isn't overly aggressive, and a dry toasted biscuity malt base. No bitterness on the finish. Unexciting but easily drinkable. Decent.

"Fortified with bourbon" - you knew they weren’t going to the trouble of using barrels at Red Truck. Purplish colour, touch of pink on the thick head. Effervescent. Sweet, lots of blackberry, a nice balancing woody element - I don’t know if I’d pin it down as bourbon but it lends a nice complexity to the beer. Good effort, a nice twist on the mainstream fruit beer.
