Pale, slight haze. Just a thin head. Some floral hops on the nose. On the palate, it’s very light, and devoid of sweetness. There’s a decent amount of apparent bitterness as a result. It’s also quite grainy – some grain complexity that plays well with the floral hops and Belgian yeast esters. It’s not my favourite beer, but it definitely seems like they achieved what they set out to do.

This one’s okay. The hops are fine, the malts are fine. It’s a bit light on apparent bitterness, but everything seems to scream “IPA anybody can order and not be annoyed by”. Dunno. For me, there’s so many yummy malty beers here that I’d surprised if I pinted an IPA anyway.

Can from The Gull, North Vancouver
Murky pale blond colour with almost no head. Indeed it's fairly juicy; it's also dry, which doesn't play very well with the fruit, and it's sour, so this could be a Sour Hazy; bitter citrus peel character; it doesn't have a very clear guava or passionfruit character, but it has some vegetable bitterness in the finish.
In the end, a lot to talk about here, not necessarily all in harmony.

Cloudy yellow with a frothy white head. Orange and passionfruit with a touch of mango. Passion, orange and some bitter peel. Not bad, but not quite there yet.

Can. Hazy, vibrant yellow colour. Just a thin head, however. Big and bright tropical fruit hop aroma, cause everybody is doing that for the summer. J/K, though, I do like passionfruit and pineapple. There's a fair bit of tartness for this, passionfruit, grapefruit. I'm really enjoying this.

Not billed as a dunkelweizen but it comes out a dark brown. Banana nose. Tart, fruity, lots of banana and quite wheaty. Looks weird, tastes as expected. Not the most accomplished hefeweizen, but honestly it's one of the hardest styles to make well so I'll let it slide a bit.

Very pale. Thin head. Light fruity nose, medium bitterness. Leafy cannabis and grapefruity hop notes. Clean pale malt base.

Lots of bright danky hop. Mellow sourness. Solid. Very similar to Super Strath, which I've had a lot of this summer. Hard to argue with Idaho 7 and Ekuanot, honestly.

Cloudy, pale. Quite fruity, lots of deep weedy hop notes. Prominent malt backdrop but not sweet like some local hazies, and muted alcohol. So it's well-balanced.

Golden, sparkling. Medium head. Low bitterness, but a fair bit of hop expression. Has a noblish character (it's local Triple Pearl, actually, probably the first experience I've had with that hop). The cleans are clean, just lightly sweet, and bright. I don't actually get any corn or adjunct in this, just one of the better-made lagers around right now.
