Poured from 473mL can (2023 release; #410/500). Very dark brown with minimal beige head. Demerara sugar, boozy rum, thin bodied, meh.

473mL can, pours a deep dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is full of intense perfumey spirit with little else besides the rum. Flavour is pretty hot and harsh, with tons of hot spirit that is barely recognizable as rum. Malt base is thin and buried beneath the spirit. Not a fine work of art.

2023 vintage. I got the Gretzky can, #99 of 500. Near black. Medium head. The aroma is quite intense rum barrel, maybe some chocolate. The base has a medium body (for style), a decent amount of sugars, and a hint of roast. But it's not all that complex. The rum is more like candy rum, some phenols, a bit hot. It's not bad - the base is sufficiently respectable - but the treatment doesn't really do it any favours. Just too much raw spirit.

Poured from 473mL can for Thanksgiving turkey dinner tradition of drinking a pumpkin beer. Clear amber orange with full white head. Tons of nutmeg, mild all spice, pretty thin, meh.

5oz pour at YVR. Pours murky gold with a white head. Initial impression was a soapy cluster-fuck, but it got better so perhaps it was residual dishwasher fluid. Aroma has some berries and tropical fruit. Flavour is less pronounced; definitely driven by the berry and tropical fruit hop flavours, but fairly muddled. Not great, but less terrible than my initial impression.

5oz pour at YVR. Pours mostly clear dark amber with white head. Aroma has brown bread malts. Flavour has soggy malts, some vague hoppy crispness. Nose is fine, but the palate is very macro.

5oz pour at YVR. Pours slightly cloudy yellow with white head. Aroma is very subtle, maybe some grass and pale malts. Flavour has straw, crisp malts; kinda tastes like the hops are a bit stale here. Could be worse.

5oz pour at YVR. Pours clear blonde with white head. Aroma has some light malts. Flavour has white bread, a bit skunky. 5oz was 4.5oz too many.

On tap at Stanley Park, pours a dirty dark brown with a small tan bead. Aroma is pretty subdued, with a good balance of roasted malt and earthy hops. Flavour is more assertive, with a nice roasted malt base, earthy hops, and maybe a hint of tart citrus. I want more roast and more hops in my black IPAs. The balance is decent, though it's a bit rough and dirty.

On tap at Stanley Park, pours a fairly clear pale golden with a small white head. Aroma has sweet bready malt, a touch of caramel, and some cereal graininess. Flavour is much the same, with lots of bready malt, light-to-moderate sweetness, and toasted grains. Finishes lightly mineraly, with sweet cereal notes on the finish—maybe a bit too sweet. Decent.
