Taster at the brewery - old school American imperial stout - dry, moderately bitter - lots of coffee, roast, but light acidity - dry, cocoa finish - not what most people want from the style these days, either in heft or in abv, but I kind of appreciate that about it.

Taster at the brewery. Pours black, with a small, bubbly, tan head. The nose is dark chocolate, chicory, leather, cream, and bell pepper. Sweet and sugary, with a faint bitterness. No heat. Medium body, slick, and syrupy. Not bad, but the chili is disappointing.

Marked at 12.5%. Taster at the brewery. Murky, reddish-brown, with a small, tan head. The nose is apple, caramel, juniper berries, coriander, and vanilla. Sweet and malty, with a bracing, dull bitterness. Very heavy body, chewy, and sharp. Clean, aggressive, and balanced.

Taster at the brewery. Pours almost clear, orange, with a medium, frothy, white head. The nose is spruce, peach, candied orange, and heavy chemical-ish perfume. Sweet and estery, with a light, sharp bitterness. Medium to heavy body, slick, and sharp. Nice, and on-style.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear, golden color, with a small, foamy, off-white head. The aroma is cloves, white sugar, light lemon and guava, mellow dough, and lavender. Sweet and kinda sugary and estery. A bit bitter. Light, crisp, buttery, and clean. Beautiful, mellow, and easy.

On tap at DRBT 10. Pours a hazy gold with medium white head that lasts. The aroma is yeast, toasted grain, floral. Slick body, yeast, grain, citrus, light crisp finish, very good.
