Sweet, paper, dusty taste. Sweet aftertaste, also grainy and a tad toffee. Medium light mouthfeel, medium light bitterness.5/3/5/3/10=2.6

33 cl bottle at Beerbelly Tavern (Gushan District), Kaohsiung, on October 2, 2017.Hazy golden color, white head. Very sweet, not sugary, more a fruit like sweetness taste, not much else. Sweet, cola/fudge like aftertaste. Unexpected for sure. Medium full mouthfeel, low to very low bitterness. Sweet, odd fruit like scent. Some big flakey floaties with the last pour.6/3/5/4/11=2.9

Super cloudy golden coloured body with a thick, four centimetre tall off-white head that has shades of pink. Aroma of alcohol, fruits, melons, raisins, malt and a ton of bubblegum - very strong in the nose with some yeast as well. Medium to Full-bodied; Super sweet flavour of rambutans and lychees both with a lot of pear and apple syrup (think canned fruit) sweetness and a dose of alcohol and a lot of malt noticeable on the end. Aftertaste shows some more fruit and malty flavours, but this is all about the sweetness, in rich, syrupy forms instead of manageable and small doses. Overall, a rich beer that is way sweeter and more pungent than I thought it would be, and it wasn’t bad per se, just a tad TOO sweet and rich. Still, nice to sample in this part of the world and from this country, especially...also happy that I didn’t lug it back halfway across the world to sample it later! I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from Jason’s Market Place at Taipei 101 in Taipei, Taiwan on 24July-2017 for NT$135 sampled in my hotel room here in central Taipei, Taiwan on 27-July-2017.

Super dark coloured body with a nice, three to four centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, raisins, figs, earth, alcohol, toffee, smoked peat and a touch of pure caramel and caster sugar. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong earthy flavour of toasted malt, peanuts, grain, yeast, toffee, caramel, raisins, figs and a lot of toast, coupled with alcohol and a rich bready and nutty yeast quality near the end. Aftertaste shows some grain, alcohol and nuts, yeast, toffee and a lot of lightly smoked qualities that are very nice and end quite sweet. Overall, naturally this is quite a bit different than a traditional abbey dubbel, but that is to be expected, given we’re in the west, but compared to most other options brewed in the East, this is a great option and at the very worst, a nice offering to have over here! I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from Jason’s Grocery (International Supermarket) in Taipei 101 Mall, in central Taipei, Taiwan on 24-July-2017 for NT$105 sampled in my hotel room a few minutes later, today on 24-July-2017.

330ml bottle picked up at Bier Markt Nagoya.Pours out a hazy straw topped with a white head. nose is grapefruit citrus some lychee sweetness I would guess. Taste is more of the citrus over the sweet lychee notes.
