Dullish gold colour with a thick head. Fresh pale malts, slightly sweet. Touch of leafy hops. I'�d say it'�s a lighter, more drinkable take on the style, but clean and well-made.

Can, undated, bc OEC's 20 billion dollar brewhouse can't afford a date stamper, apparently. Drunk 11/10/23. Clear, mahogany-dark amber. Small, dark beige, charred tan head. Bready, crunchy, crusty. Not much in the way of bright acidity or deep malt. Same flavors. Way too much specialty malt. Bready, crusty, drying. Medium-light bodied. Thinner than it should be. Caramel and brown bread lingers...

Canned at OEC/B. United, undated, with Mythos Spezial Marzen as the name, drunk 10/17/23. Clear, deep auburn-amber. Small, butter-colored head quickly to ring. Rich base malt mixing with moderate amounts of specialty malt and light acidity to provide an aromatic, balanced nose. Good mineral, low roast, low hop. Almost a hint of roast with caramel and toffee not too sweet, but nicely rich and malty. Good attenuation. Nicely balanced and drinkable without any overly toasted character or toouch caramel.

Deep mahagoni. Aroma is chestnut caramel light pistacchio. Taste is sweet toffee with a light carbonation induced freshness. Pretty smooth but some rough bubbles. Ok drinkability. Medium body, medium finish. Ok.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear, dark, nutty brown with a small, beige head. Roasty, nutty nose. Medium body, roast, toffee and nuts with a faint hint of brown sugar. Sufficient bitterness. A solid Dunkel. 180923

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear golden with a smallish, rough, white head. Solid malt nose with some spicy, flowery hops. Potent, malty body with a surprisingly low carbonation. Sulphur, gunpowder and spicy hops with a sufficient bitterness. Lovely. 080923

Bottle pour from The Beer Store, Salem (label has this as Historic Recipe but description is exactly the same so I am assuming same recipe and including here). It's a clear cola brown-mahogany with fizzy tan head quickly fading to ring, light sparkle. Aroma is strong caramel, raisin, fig, brown sugar, cherry, toffee, light licorice. Taste follows aroma with less licorice. Medium bodied and smooth with mild alcohol warmth. Good complexity and smooth. Very nice!

Bottle 50 cl. Pours a cloudy and almost opaque golden with a creamy, white head. Lemony nose with a metallic touch. Medium body, sweet lemon notes, but never cloyingly sweet. No bitterness. Decent for the style. 170823

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear yellow with a small, white head. Malty note with a touch of sulphur. Medium body, clean malts with sufficient balancing hops. Nothing fancy, just clean and straight. 030823
