About
40FT is an independent brewery in Dalston, Hackney, producing fresh, modern beer. Starting in the kitchen of a Hackney Houseshare where three homebrewers made beer for their house parties, the venture quickly moved into two 20ft shipping containers located in a disused Dalston car park in 2015, after convincing the head brewer of their local brewery to join them.

Over the last 6 years, 40FT brewery has grown organically by adding more shipping containers like lego and a building a talented team of 15 people. 40FT is now brewing to capacity on a 10HL brew kit, with an output of 7,000 pints a week

Brewing is understood to take place at both sites with more beer being produced at the new Walthamstow / Blackhorse beer mile location.

The registered office on Companies House is neither of the brewing locations so the address used is the primary brewing location on Lockwood Way.

Keg at Tilt Brum; clear copper red pour with a thin creamy off white head, aroma has sweet fruits and some roast malts, taste has jammy berries, caramel, some malt load, hint of toast.

Keg at the Hop Locker - London. Pours glowing red with a creamy, off-white head. The nose holds bready malts, ripe berries, some caramel. Medium sweet flavour with nice bready malt character, toasted toffee, mellow bitterness, berries. Medium to full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Nicely balanced finish, lots of lightly toasted bread, more jammy berries. Fun stuff.

[ As 40ft Street Weiss ].Unclear medium orange yellow colour with a large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, wheat, light to moderate hoppy, moderate yeasty, tart fruit, banana, yeast. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a long duration, wheat, banana, fruity, yeast, tart notes. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20160730] 5-3-6-3-12

Keg at the Beavertown Extravaganza, day juan, 08/09/17. Golden orange with a lasting white head. Nose is tangy citric peel, lemon rind, light spice, grains. Taste comprises lime, lemon, sharp citric zest, stale bread, light ginger tickle, herbal. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close. Ok if a touch simplistic.

Tap@Beavertown Extravaganza 2017 - black pour with a tan head. Roasted and sweet malty with coffee, chocolate, caramel, vanilla, some burnt charred malty notes, roasted finish.
