1000ml bottle. Opalescent, dark ruby colour with average, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, pale sulphureous head. Cautious, slightly toasty, minimally nutty, malty aroma, hints of hazelnut, a touch of caramel. Taste is slightly toasty and nutty malty, slightly bitter and minimally grassy hoppy, hints of hazelnut, a touch of chestnut, caramel, very low residual sweetness. Light body, creamy-watery texture, smooth and soft, simultaneously dry palate, medium to fine, mildly prickly carbonation. Well crafted, wonderful colour, good balance, nice nutty flavours - pretty decent.

1000ml bottle. Very nice, minimally milky, more ruby than brown, auburn colour with small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, sulphureous to beige head. Cautious, minimally toasty and chocolately, caramel and dark malty aroma with a grainy, bready touch of pumpernickel, a touch of treacle as well. Taste is minimally grainy and bready, minimally toasty, caramel and dark malty with low residual sweetness, hints of pumpernickel, a touch of treacle, burnt caramel, very weak hints of cocoa, minimally metallic, hoppy counterpart, doughy yeasty overtones. Watery texture, minimally dry palate, medium, mildly prickly carbonation. Very nice colour, quite some subtleties, well controlled sweetness, but rather cautious overall - decent.

Minimally toasty, pale malty and slightly caramel malty aroma, weak hoppy overtones, whiffs of rock sugar, doughy yeasty overtones as well. Taste is sweet-ish, minimally toasty, caramel malty and minimally strawy, pale malty, a touch of caramel and rock sugar., mildly bitter, hoppy counterpart, minimally bready and doughy yeasty overtones. Minimally oily, watery texture, smooth and soft palate, medium, soft carbonation. Not very Kölsch- or Wiess-like, rather a dark Kellerbier - quite nice nevertheless.

500ml bottle. Cloudy, amber colour with small to average, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, off-white head. Wheaty malty, minimally phenolic aroma, a touch of banana. Taste is minimally bready, wheaty malty, minimally yeasty fruity and yeasty spicy, hints of banana and clove. Watery texture, smooth and soft palate, medium to fine, soft, mildly prickly carbonation. Simple and monotonous - meh!

Tap at the source. Clear, yellow-ish golden colour with small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Grainy, strawy, pale malty aroma, hoppy overtones. Taste is slightly grainy and strawy, minimally spicy, pale malty, slightly bitter hoppy, a minimally fruity touch of apricot, subtle residual sweetness. Watery texture, smooth and soft,simultaneously minimally dry palate, fine, mildly prickly carbonation. Decent.
