Bag in a box at the Old Horse, Leicester. Light gold, a bit of density. Light appley aroma, not much here. Sweet tangy taste, a lot more character here. Has that wonderful tangy cider bite on the tongue. Some balanced almost souring notes in the finish. I'm so used to Snail's Bank doing sickly sweet flavoured ciders that I forgot how they could deliver on the real thing.

Growler (probably BIAB) from LCB. It pours pale greenish golf with no head of couy. The aroma is tart, tangy, juicy green crunchy apple, apple skin, fizzy candy and dried leaves. The taste is dry, bitter - sweet, juicy, crunchy, tangy apple, light tannin from the apple skin, quite oily, touch of tartness and pucker, some astringency from the booze and some sour candy with a dry, woody finish. Medium body, flat and oily mouth feel. Grew on me. Nice drinkability and also boost.

Handpull at the Marquis Wellington, Leicester. Pink and clear and no head. Aroma is dominated by clove. I'm sure there are other winter spice scents but they are defeated by the wave of clove. Tastes sweet, sweet, sweet, again clove-dominated with suggestions of a bittersweet fruit that could I deed be rhubarb. Strange and artificial but somewhat moreish. An odd one.

Box @ Coracle, Ironbridge. Deep reddish dark appearance. Good black forest expressions, chocolate and cherry coming through well though clearly doesn't work in a cider.

(Cask at Cock Tavern, Hackney, London, 26 May 2022) Pale golden colour with no head. Fruity, sourish nose with notes of yellow apples and grass. Fruity, tart taste with yellow apples, honey, grass, apple peel, a certain tannin harshness and a fresh acidity in the finish. Medium body, with a slight sweetness. Tasty and refreshing. Nice one.
