Bottle at NC Cider Fest. Pale plum, clear, spirited. Faintly floral, murky bittersweets, hibiscus. Tate is semi-sweet, a bit too sweet. Floral, low acid, mellow tartness, medium carb, approachable, a bit too sugary. Okay.

Bottle from Covenhoven. NB goblet @ home. 4.9%. Classic pale amber, maybe a bit hazed. Good head, no bottle bomb. Smells of dry apples, minerals & rotting/wet leaves. Tight bubbles; parching. Concentrated & juicy bittersweet flavor. Initially, it was somewhat like wet soil &/or mold, but a good chunk of that disapates, ...but not all of it. Less funk then the Demi-sec. Bit of salt, noticable acid, faint tartness, wood, oxidation, plastic. Lighter, thinner, better texture, but the Demi-sec tastes better. This one takes a long while to air out.

Bottle from Covenhoven. NB goblet @ home. Imported. 4.9% abv. Bottle bomb. Clear, brown more than amber. Smells of macerated/browned apples, hay, faded cinnamon. Lux, creamy bubbles. Melted browned apples, core, herbs, oxidized cider, wood, faint lemon, general barn foulness. Sweeter than what you might normally want. A very solid French cider at less than $10/bottle.
Nice sweet apple flavor with notes of funky bleu cheese on the palate and nose

$14 bottle from this little wine shop along Atlantic Ave. Foamy, quickly settling, active, clear, golden brew. Smell is of wet leaves and moderate barnyard. Waiting a bit till it airs out leads to some soggy, macerated notes. Taste is familiar, yet different. Half tart, half sweet apples, turning chalky dry halfway through the sip. Leafy greens & a bite of dirty farm funk. Faint vanilla at the end. Thin with a beady carbonation. Noticable sulfites. Decent.

75cl bottle from Auchan. Drunk in the park on a sunny Summer evening. Pours hazy orange with some floaters, thin white head. Spritzy carbonation. Fuzzy, mushy farmhouse apple pulp aroma. Taste is smooth with soft extra fine bubbles, soft apple mush fruitiness with a very mild furry tannic finish. Nice scuzzy farmhouse fruitiness. Lovely stuff.

750ml bottle from Len’s cellar, aged bottle. Orangey golden colour, bubbly white foam head that quickly dissipates away and aroma of ripe apple, honey, leather, barnyard, woody oak. Taste is tangy fruity apple, green apples, apple skin, dry, bittersweet with notes of leather, woody oak, vanilla, honey, caramel, hay, barnyard, plus some tannin and lingering sourness. Spritzy mouthfeel, light bodied, high carbonation, dry tart finish. Nicely balanced, very drinkable.

From Auchan, 75cl bottle. Hazy deep yellow color, with very little head disappearing. Medium carbonation. Smell is apple, with clear wood notes.Taste is not so dry, there is tartness, sourness, but there is also a sweet feeling at the beginning. Is not really fruity, and the after taste is not so long, but it’s a good cider.
