Bottle at the brewpub, vintage 2010, 2 years old
Dark amber color, creamy head. The aroma is harmonious and complex, malty with a very nice mature character, wood, light vanilla. Good body structure, lean mouthfeel, smooth; excellent flavor of malt, caramel, nuts, chocolate, light vanilla; medium to low bitterness, just a light alcohol perception.
Excellent, balanced, elegant.

Dark brown color with ruby shades, brownish creamy head. Moderate aroma of roasted malt and caramel. Good body structure, smooth mouthfeel, delicate roasted malt flavor an some coffee, light acidity from the roasted malt, correct bitterness, a hint of fruits and alcohol. Not as elegant as the single bock, but still a solid choice.

Beautiful mahogany color, creamy head. The caramel aroma is very nice, elegant, perfumy. Nice caramel flavor too, no oxidisation, light nutty touch; it could benefit from some more body, but overall it’s very good.

Cloudy dark blond color with creamy head. The aroma is moderately sweet and malty, lightly fruity. Some wheat flavor, maybe some spice, some grass, but too much bitterness, kinda disturbing.

Cloudy amber color, creamy head. Nice malt aroma, a bit fruity. Quite good malt flavor, smooth mouthfeel; nice continental hops, although the final bitterness is too strong. Hints of yeast too.
Good but rough.

The color is black; the head generous but frothy, and the bottle a bit gushing. Mild aroma of roasted malt, wine barrel, chocolate; simple. Too high carbonation, sign of an unwanted fermentation in the bottle; as a Dubbel, it’s a reasonably tasty beer with some dusty chocolate, and indeed there is a feeling of wine barrel and red wine, light acidity, light ethanol.
Nice try.

Dark mahogany color, creamy head. Caramel and malt aroma, a bit nutty and oxidized. Lean body, semi sweet flavor of caramel, touch of roasted malt, roasted nuts, light oxidisation; alcohol perception well managed. Good (but in the shade of the V.S.O.P.).

Dark reddish brown colour, firm beige head. Aroma of liquorice, malts, caramel, roasted malts and candy sugar. Quite full body. Light sweetness, bitter roasted malty flavour, liquorice. Finish liquorice, roasted malts, light sweet and bitter.
Best one of the day.
