Bottle drunk at home after Greek lamb, whilst watching Nic Cage try to be old-timey Spidey. Dark brown beer, short-lived off-white head, with a definitely deep and smoky, malty nose. Really full flavor and mouthfeel, lots of smoke but not overpowering. Definitely meaty! Now that's a good Rauchbier.

330ml bottle. Jet black colour with average, firm, dense, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, off-white to beige head. Roasty, chocolately, dark malty, slightly caramel malty, minimally doughy yeasty and fruity hoppy, aroma, notes of coffee, dark chocolate, some dark caramel, a touch of nut-flavoured white coffee, whiffs of raspberry. Taste is roasty, chocolately, dark malty, minimally nutty, caramel malty and minimally fruity hoppy, hints of dark chocolate, a touch of raspberry, nut-flavoured white coffee, some roasty bitterness; slightly ashy finish, a minimally metallic touch as well.
Slightly creamy-oily texture, smooth and soft palate, medium to fine, dense, creamy carbonation.
Well crafted, some nice malty flavours, but barely hoppy - not really convincing.

(Draft at De Drie Dorstige Herten, Utrecht, 26 Feb 2026) Golden colour with creamy, off-white head. Malty, fruity, slightly spicy nose with notes of citrus peel, apricots and herbs. Fruity, malty taste with mixed fruit, marzipan, herbs, orange peel and a mild spicy/herbal bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Clean and well balanced. Nice one.
