We bring you craft beer with a nostalgic twist, born from influential culture of the 80's & 90's.
At the heart of Play Brew Co is an obsession for creating quality beers. That all started back in 2014, when our founder Phil embarked on a journey of home brewing after being inspired by the craft beer cropping up in Leeds.
2017: It’s been a long road but we are delighted to announce that Play Brew Co’s first trio of beers is hitting bars and stores in the North of England. The Arcade ‘86 Series is a collection of three recipes that pay homage to Phil’s favourite beers – tying his experience of home brewing and his on hand experience at brew labs together.

Keg draught at Tønne, Leicester. Light to mid-golden and hazy with a ring of white head and some lacing. Lots of star fruit in the aroma, with creamy stone and tropical fruit notes. Tangy sourness in the taste with a little bit of sugary sweetness coming up for air. Fruity sugary milky notes in the aftertaste. Man these guys are fun.

Keg draught at Tønne, Leicester. Orange/gold and impenetrable to light with no head. Fresh mango dominates the aroma, but I'm having a hard time getting the coconut. The taste has both, with sour ripe mango cooled by drying coconut. Thick oily body with little carbonation. Pretty simple stuff but they nailed it.

Tap at Sommar, Solihull. Poured a murky light brown colour with a lasting frothy white head. The aroma is tropical citrus. The flavour is moderate sour, with a biscuit dough, guava, tart lime citrus palate. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation.

Cask @ SALT Calls Landing, Leeds. Very dark reddish-brown with a creamy head. Has a thick mix of marshmallow and roasted malts, the former providing a fair sweetness to this stout.

440ml can in the Snuggery Tap, Newport Shropshire on 23rd March 2023. Hazed golden body, white crown. Oranges ruled the aroma and taste, be they tangerines, satsumas or clementine's. Nice fairly sweet brew, my sweet tooth liked it anyway!
