330ml bottle. Opaque, dark brown colour with average to huge, foamy, moderately to mostly lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Sweet-ish, toasty malty aroma, notes of caramel, vanilla, toffee, hints of red and blue berries, a touch of raisin; an initial impression of Bourbon BA reveals itself as unfounded, yeasty, leafy hints of blueberry and bramble finally predominate. Taste is sweet-ish, toasty malty, hints of caramel, molasses, toffee, liquorice, some blueberry and bramble, a papery touch; minimally warming, alcoholic finish. Strong but still rather drinkable.

Cask @ Ring, Southwark, London. Very dark red with a thin bubbly head. It’s a winter warmer with a light spice, but enough to dominate over some toffee notes also in here. A few roasted malts come through too and are better in its nose than taste.
