Bottled, sampled July 2005 in Amsterdam
Almost opaque black, good tanned head. Strong roasted, chocolaty nose, some sweet yeast too. Light to medium-bodied, more on watery-side. Bitterness and woody nut flavors override roastyness, which comes out in the finish. Unbalanced.

(Bottle 33 cl) Dark brown and clear with a beige head. Some caramel in the nose. Some roasted malt but mainly this is tart, tart, tart - obviously infected. A Scottish Ale?? 280705

Bottled (BB 02/2006)
Very dark brown, huge cloudy brown head, lace. Roasted, milk chocolaty aroma. Chocolaty, woody, slightly metallic flavor. Sweetish stout/porter. Malty profile is ok, needs more hops to balance.

Fully hazy yellow with greenish shine; slim small white head. Coriandernose with faint citrus and rosewater. Taste is rosewater, bubble gum, yeast esters and little spices. Wheat, but not very expressly so. Refreshing, no doubt. Superior in its category, recommended if you like witbier.

Beer looks as Coca - Cola for all the world, with a very fast gone head, leaving some lace. Liquorice, tobacco, a bit smoked and faraway nutty. Tobacco taste as well, with dark smoked malts, leafy as aucuba. Retronasal tonguesides gives some more liquorice or treacle sweetness, blending seemlessly into the beer. Rather thin MF. Exception taken for the MF, quite pleasing beer, good try.

Bottle. Slightly malty aroma, a little sour. Very small hint of honey. Chestnut colour. Sourish, citric flavour. Aftertaste has a hint of honey. There is no honey in this beer, by the way. A bit acidic for me, but probably good for a short session.

Fully oil-black; typically Guinnessy, but small head. Walnutpeel, little liquorice, and hazelnut nose. Mild-sweet, not sticky, but quite aromatic taste, like aucuba leaves aroma. Candi sugar & roasted notes. Quite well bodied absolutely, but not in its style. More than than OK. Just a bit sweet and thinner than usual I.R.S.; has its merits nonetheless.

Bottle Blond, sparkling body. Off-white head, with good lace. Moderately bitter, lightly sweet initial flavour. Moderately bitter liong finish. Not very extra-ordinary.

Dark amber to brown color; big head. Malt aroma, some sweetness, light spices. The taste is malty, but a bit dry in the front, sweeter later; loads of caramel, some spices. Ends more balanced.

Amber color; giant head. Strange aroma: candi, spices, dried fruits and flowers. Quite good body structure, some malt, a light sourness. Not bad, but quite odd.
