Description
raditional Devon cider hand crafted on our Devon farm. We are quite rare amongst cider makers in that we make our cider using only the apples grown in our own orchards. Solland Farm has a long history of apple growing and cider making with the "new" cider house being built in 1878. Although they aren't thought of as a Devon variety Bramley's Seedling apples were first planted at Solland in the 1870's and one of those original surviving trees is thought to be one of the oldest Bramley trees growing anywhere in the country. As well Bramley, we have traditional Devon cider apple varieties like Ellis Bitters, Dabinette, Michelin and Fair Maid of Devon all of which contribute to the unique character of our ciders.

8/4/2019. Bottle sample courtesy of Danlo, cheers! Pours clear fizzy bright gold without any head forming. Aroma of tart apples, light caramel, cider vinegar, touch of citrus. Light sweetness, medium plus tartness. Medium body, oily texture, average to fizzy carbonation. Dry, astringent finish. Decent.

750ml bottle from Sampford Courtenay. Clear deep golden amber colour, short-lived white foamy head and aroma of funky apple, sharp vinegary hint, woody. Taste is sweetish, tangy orchardy apple, funky, solventy hints, tart with drying tannins. Slick mouthfeel, medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry tangy tart & tannic finish. Nicely drinkable

Bottle from Booths, Media City. Clear golden-orange cider. The apple flavouring is distinctive, mostly dry, heavy tasting and with a sour finish. It’s strength is evident in both aroma and taste, with a sugariness in this respect.

0.75l clear swing-top bottle that shows the red glow of the cider already. Clear, slightly hazy red-golden colour, tiney white bubbles on top. Slightly sparkling, slightly sweet with a punch of tart apple flavours. Very nice indeed.
