Description
Fresh, Fun, Approachable, Hop-Forward

Hey there! We're Offshoot Beer Co. from your friends at The Bruery. Offshoot is the Bruers' playground, where we dive deep into the world of hop-forward beers. While we could definitely geek out on the intricacies of making these beers, we'd rather just open a cold one and...Relax.

What is Offshoot?

Years ago our founder Patrick Rue made a promise to NEVER brew an IPA. As time went on, our adventurous Bruers KNEW they could make world class hop-forward beers, so Offshoot was born as an offshoot of The Bruery, all while keeping Patrick's promise that The Bruery would NEVER make an IPA.

Where The Bruers Relax

Offshoot is what The Bruers drink when they're off the clock. Nothing better to help you Relax, Escape, Retreat, or Coast.

4 oz draft. Aroma is mostly lime peel with some soft pine needles.
No surprises here. The flavor is the aroma with a soft, mild lingering bitterness after the sip. Decent amount of juice texture.

4 oz draft. Aroma is soft herb and some bright citrus fruits. Flavor follows with the herb on top of a nice tropical fruit like backbone. Thinking mango and lemon.

4 oz snifter. Aroma is very soft wheat and very mild clove. Flavor is mostly the same with a very soft hint of banana. But the yeast phenols are not huge. Good

16 ounce can from Tavour. Slightly hazed orange gold pour. Rocky white head. Aromas of sweet melon, mango and tangerine. Flavor brings notes of bittersweet citrus, mango and pineapple. Some dank pine as well. Creamy, juicy and tropical. Dry, bitter finish and aftertaste. Decent.

There are hints of an IPA in the beginning before the bullshit takes over. The leave is a tangy cloying mixture of coconut husk and pineapple. Mostly bullshit, my fault for seeing the term West Coast and not reading more.

Last beer of my 5 week holiday in California, US Pint can at LAX on 22nd April 2026. I think I managed 198 new rates while on the trip. Anyway this poured a clean and clear golden colour with a snow white head. Citrus/tropical fruit nose and taste, it's fine, but is very similar to hundreds of WCIPA's available at the moment, didn't stand out from the crowd.

Part of a three hazy IPA flight on 18th April 2026 at the OC Local Taproom. All three looked the same, only their white heads being slightly different in coverings and size of their bubbles. Opaque golden orange, wispy white head. Oranges and Mango seemed to be the main players in this fruity little number, other citrus fruits were harmed when brewing this one though, liked it's 8% kick too.

Can to tulip.
Appearance: cloudy orange to copper color with a one finger white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: tropical fruity to citrusy hop notes, light clean malts
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas together semi-sweet with a little bit of juiciness; light finish of some tropical fruits and clean malts
Texture: medium bodied, sessionable, semi-juicy smooth along the tongue, very low hop bitterness
Overall: nice enough NE styled IPA I could come back to.

Crowler poured into a tulip.
Appearance: thick hazy burnt orange with a thin cap of a little white foamy head which slid off nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: peachy to nectarine and some lemony hops smooth themselves over some light clean bready malts
Flavor: melds the prior noted aromas together in a juicy bittersweet sort of manner; light peachy to lemony finish
Texture: medium bodied, somewhat sessionable, nice low carb, pretty smooth along the tongue. Very low bitterness
Overall: a very nicely done NE styled IPA I would definitely have again.
