330ml bottle. Minimally milky, yellow-ish, golden colour with average, frothy, slowly osteoporosing, minimally lacing, white head. Mildly yeasty spicy, yeasty fruity and floral aroma, pale malty background, some chamomile, apricot, mirabelle, whiffs of coriander and wasabi. Taste is sweet-ish, minimally biscuity, pale malty, yeasty spicy and yeasty fruity, slightly citrusy fruity hoppy and minimally floral, notes of apricot and mirabelle, lemon and mandarine, coriander and wasabi, some chamomile, a touch of honey.
Watery texture, slightly dry palate, medium, dense, prickly carbonation.
Very nice composition, fairly complex, nevertheless highly drinkable, quite hoppy and "modern" for a Trappist Ale - good.
Didn't really know what to expect from this. In the end it is no surprise that Chimay delivers at a decent level of quality. Everything else would do harm to the brand, of course. Somehow more Witbier than Belgian Blond and therefore maybe wrong labeled. Could have been a disappointment but isn't.

Bottle: Poured a deep copper color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of caramelized malty notes with some dry fruits and residual candi sugar notes. Taste is also a mix of nice caramelized malt notes with some dry fruits, light barrel notes and some residual candi sugar and a smooth finish with no rough edges. Body is full for style with good carbonation and no real discernible alcohol notes. Seems to me like an upgrade over the original.

Bottled, from Systembolaget. Almost clear golden, huge, firm head. Peppery, spicy nose with coriander and esters. Mid sweet with medium to full body and rounded mouthfeel. Estery and grainy with marzipan and peppery heat and coriander. Warming bitter finish.
