Bottle served in my IPA glass where it pours a copper-amber in color with a thick hop oil fruity muck of an aroma. Can a fruity scent be described as dense? Smells great. Quite full bodied with a prickly carbonation at first that then goes smooth and velvety. I sat on this one a bit too long and while the aroma has stayed strong the hope flavor has dissipated leaving me with piney bitterness and somewhat sweet earthy rich malts and some lingering peach/pear fruit character. I should’ve drunk it earlier but it is still pretty damn good.

Bottle from the brewery. A very pale straw gold that makes me think of camomile tea with a bright eggshell white head of foam that quickly dissipated. Light Pilsner type malts with a mild Japanese pear aroma. The taste is light, carbonic, dry, refreshing and a bit salty but much less tart than I expected. The pear does come through nicely in the finish and aftertaste. Now to pair it with a nashi!

From the ratings, I’d guess it is better on tap and in my own experience it took warming up to get much noticeable tartness out of it. Nice enough but I think using juicier more flavorful western pears and a stronger souring agent would kick it up a notch.

I ended the nigh at Tadg’s with the Kolsch after Coco-natsu. A clear straw gold with a thick white head and a grassy herbal hop aroma. Light bodied and crisp with a peppery green herbal hop bite. It shows what a kolsch can be and as it suited the hot weather perfectly it was probably my favorite beer of the night, along with the Session IPA.

Tap at Tadg’s. IPA #3 6.4% A lovely copper pour with an insanely thick beige head and a big woodsy pine aroma. Medium bodied and smooth with lots of woodsy pine and classic west coast hops.

Tap at Tadg’s TDM Event. Very fruity bouquet on a copper body topped off with a thick creamy off-white head. Medium bodied and velvety smooth. This was a solid Pale Ale.

At the Tadg Event, I started my evening off with the Session IPA...

A clear gold with a bready malt and grassy-fruity hop bouquet. Light bodied , crisp and dry. Good flavor and balance. Very nice, I like that the body stayed full enough to support the hops and make for a more satisfying brew.

Tap at Tadg’s. Spicy hop nose, leafy, some citrus, interesting and fun hops. Decent malt background. Very pale yellow, clear. Tall head. Light citrus in the flavor, smooth and crisp, spicy, peppery finish. Well done and the Strisselspalt hops work well.
