2016 Bottle [Batch 01]: Super muddied and hazy deep brown and amber coloured body with a very thin and super fast-dying tan head. Aroma of ultra soured and tart fruits that pucker the mouth (even without taking a sip0 showing raspberries, cherries, oak, yeast, light malts and a huge dose of bretty and funky wood foeders along with more fruits - very nice. Light to Medium-bodied; Super vinous and berry flavours from the fruit dominate with a soured and tart raspberry and blackberry flavour along with a great yeast and malt profile that shows very nicely throughout, but the aftertaste is softer and generally weak, especially considering the style, profile and the yeasts roaming through here. Aftertaste shows the tart and pungent soured flavours with a bit more alcohol and fruit than typical, but the cherry and tart notes are definitely evident, in a good way. Overall, a nice beer that shows well, and the age perhaps did it well, with a great tart and soured cherry note that dominates, but leaves some room for other flavours. I sampled this 75 cL caged and corked bottle for US$17,79, purchased from Total Wine in Fairfax, Virginia on 18-September-2017, sampled a bit more than two years ago, sampled at home in Washington on Thanksgiving Day 2019, 28-November-2019.
