Can from Total Wine in Vacaville, CA. Pours clear mahogany with a slight tan head. Aroma of dark malt and dark fruit. Arguably med body. Flavor is plum or raisin with rum, dark malt, and some coffee and vanilla. Heat is present but not annoying. Not dry, and not exactly bitter. Pretty good flavor. Dark fruit prolonged in the finish.

12 oz can. Aroma is a steady amount of coconut with some coffee. The flavor absolutely pops with coconut and coffee and marries well with a mild oak finish. Texture is silky, smooth with a full body. Very flavorful.

Pint can pours with a fairly clear copper mahogany colored body that supports a light tan head of foam. The aroma offers up a blend of vanilla, nutty coffee, molasses and fig to plum fruity esters. The taste delivers both sweet dark fruity esters and sweet vanilla that's quickly cut and balanced with some boozy heat. To midway a bit of dark roasted coffee and coffee nuttiness bubble weakly to the surface. The boozy bite grows into a nice warmth into the finish and well into the after taste. Solid sipping experience.

12 oz. can from HEB in Boerne, TX. Pours a clear dark amber color with a small khaki head and poor retention. Virtually no lacing. Sweet caramel malt aroma. The taste follows the nose: Sweet caramel malt flavor, with a slightly fruity jelly-flavored hops finish. Okay, but the flavors don't blend well together. Medium-light body. Slick mouthfeel. Too low carbonation. Needs more life. Mellow bitterness.

The taste follows the nose: Dark roasted/ toasted malts flavor and some dark chocolate notes. Very Schwarzbier-like. Super smooth and clean. Lightly sweet. Medium-light body. Low carbonation. Zero bitterness. And the 6.4% ABV is invisible. Great beer.
