330mL bottle, pours a cloudy opaque dark orange with a small white head. Aroma smells like resinous hops, bourbon barrels, and woody notes. Flavour is well-balanced, incorporating the bourbon very well, with resinous hops and woody notes. Still tastes like a IIPA with a boozy, barrel-heavy character. Solid stuff.

Very hazy gold beer, big pale cream colour head. Palate is airy and crisp. Minerals. Very light malt, a thin smear of cream. Fresh yellow grapefruit blends well with dry seltzer and floralness. Whisper of tropical fruits. Finishes dry and crisp with pithy bitterness. Good stuff, well flavoured for its abv.

Keg at Mother Kelly’s, 27/06/14. Hazed golden with a moderate off white covering that stays for the show, good lacing ensues. Nose is juicy hops, mango, citric pithdom, apricot, light bread dough. Taste comprises grapefruit, sticky mango, juicy hop rinse, straw, light pine cloak, mandarin. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, good dose of hop bitterness in the close. Solid SIPA, lots of juicy citricana packed into just 3% ABV !

33cl bottle @ WilliamK, Kurvi. Batch #0037. Bottled on Nov 13. Deep amber, thick white head. Woody, biscuity aroma, caramel, yeast, fruity. Complex. Perhaps somethong else now than what the brewery intended, but still I find the aroma interesting. Flavor has dark fruits, mango, hops, wood, toffee. Very interesting twist here. So tasty, whatever the style. Now off to Tuska Open Air Festival.

Craft Clerkenwell 3rd Birthday Bash. Keg. Assume this is batch #4 and not batch #6 as per Untappd! Hazy amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light and crisp. Caramel malts with dry piney hops on top and light fruity marmalade. Light airy dry finish. It’s good but missing the normal wow factor.

Bottle at home, from Mother Kelly’s, 27/06/14. Murky orange amber with a moderate off white covering that stays for the show. Nose is juicy hops, light spice, bitter grapefruit, boozey waftings, sticky mango, caramel malt. Taste comprises bitter grapefruit, prominent alcohol rinse, big chalky minerals, sticky mango, hot caramel fudge, citric pithdom. Medium + body, slightly cloying and sticky but sippable, drinks Ok for the ABV in this respect. Ok beer, drinkable but a little overly boozey, hot and sweet to be a top pick for this style. Middling to fair DIPA.
