Description
Raw Brewing Company was created from a passion for real ale and an idea that became reality. After several years of enjoying real ale David decided to have a go himself as a hobby to see if he could produce quality real ale. After several months it was clear that the product was good with the assistance from an army of tasters! It was time then to turn this passion and idea into reality Raw Brewing Company was born.

First brewed 14th May 2010. Following financial issues, the brewery was taken over by Silver Brewhouse who still brew their brands. From circa 2021 some Raw beers were released as Silver Brewhouse beers, and the Raw brand was discontinued.

Cask at CPK, London. Pours clear russet with a fluffy, off-white head. Big grassy hop aroma. Light to medium sweet flavor, some toast, light caramel, abrasive grass bitterness. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Fairly dry finish, faint caramel, grass, dry pine. A bit too heavy on the grass. Too raw, actually.

Cask at The Craft Beer Co., London. Pours clear gold with a bubbly, white head. Has a rather mild nose, but flavor is huge, raw hops. Tons of bitterness from dandelion and grass and flowers. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Mild sweetness to finish, tons of lingering, raw and savage hops. Just a bit too much raw and grassy hops. Needs a bit more sugar in here. Became drinkable after a few sips after my tongue had become thoroughly violated and just stopped putting up a fight. Overall just OK.

Cask at the Evening Star, Brighton on 27th August 2011. Amber to gold with thin film head and skeletal lacing. Yeasty aroma. Hoppy liquid with grassy notes and the sharpest of grapefruit tangs. This strong citric note carries to finish where it lingers as the main feature. Slightly smoky wash over these flavours.

Cask at CPK, London. Clear, yellow-gold pour with a slight, white film for a head. Biscuity, doughy and slightly corny character. Mild butter notes. Some diacetyl it would seem. OK beer overall, despite that hiccup.
