This was another Hanshin Umeda find.
Ise Kadoya NikiKyuu IPA West Coast IPA 29th Anniversary 6%
It’s got a great aroma with loads of tropical notes featuring papaya. Medium to full bodied with a semi-dry finish.
This is great, very much a modern take on a west coast IPA but with enough of a bitter bite that gives it a solid nod towards the style’s origins.

Tap at Komachi. Pale yellow and very hazy. No sense of greenness that was expected. Dry citrus fruit nose with just a hint of green tea. Flavor is lightly sweet, with under-ripe tropical fruit and grapefruit. Light, crisp body. Tea is mostly noticeable in the bitter finish. Fresh and tasty, but not really enough tea in my opinion.

Tap at Komachi. Clear, bright golden color. Huge citrus nose, also quite spicy. Lots of Citra, also the Columbus is coming through. Clean malt. Bright fruity hop flavor is fantastic. Malt stays in the background. Very crisp, spicy, excellent.

Tap at Komachi. Clear golden. Bright citrus hop nose with mellow bready malts. Crisp and light, tons of hops, more like a golden IPA than a pilsner, as there is little lager character, but that's the West Coast thing. Very easy drinking and tasty.

Tap at Komachi. Medium to deep gold to copper. Dank and resinous nose, pine, touch of garlic, citrus and rich malt. Nicely spicy hops in the finish with dank and resins. Very highly drinkable.

Draft: Poured a bright yellow hazy with a white head. Aroma is juicy hops, fruity, tropical, melon. Taste is light bitter, sweet follows, fruity, tropical, citrus, melon, papaya.

Full hoppy aroma at first touch. Hazy light yellow color, long small head. Medium sweet and bitterness, lower sweetness would be better. Light body, well hidden alcohol.
