Bottled. Dark chestnutbrown. Acidic, lightly balsamic aroma. Light bodied and refreshing with notes of black cherries. A delightful beer at only 3.5%!

Sampled draught at Tapperij de Poshoorn, Maastricht.
Dark mahogany with rich creamy head. Little aroma. Notably malyt and medium sweet. Rich toffee flavour and a long bittersweet finish with more toffee. A warming bock well suitable for wet, rainy autumn conditions.

Well i disagree, that it has too much alcohol. I drank a Kasteelbier next to this one, and i thought exactly the other way about this gladiator. This is a bit less lighter beer ( :-) ) then Kasteelbier, but it has more flavor.

Rerate, 2014: bottle from Mitra Bunnik, BB Okt 2015, large sample, served in a tulip glass. Clear ruby color, short frothy off-white head. Aroma of toffee and caramel, slight toast, some autumn leaves, bit sulphury. Bit sweet in taste, slight bitterness as well. Bit sticky palate, that dry sulphury note again. Decent brew, but nothing out of the ordinary for a Dutch Bock. 3.3 Original from 2002: Clear brown color, with quite quickly disappearing foam. Malty aroma. Malty taste. Malty palate. It reminded me of the Brand Dubbelbock. Nothing much more about it i guess. As i said, decent bock, but not great. 3.0

I totally agree with jbrus. It's just fresh lemonjuice. The usual Gulpener Korenwolf is a nice refreshing wheat, but this lemon version is definitely not worth trying!

Another solid outing from Gulpener, who make consistently good, but not great, beers. This is a bright amber bock that reminds of a tripel with its peachy, flowery esters, soft body (ok, that's not really a hallmark of a tripel, but it is on some of the better ones)...very sweet, packs a little kick, like that from a korenwolf. A pure form pale bock, with no dark malt character at all. If it weren't for the esters, this would be a big dortmunder.

One of the better Lentebocks i've had this year. Smooth taste, as the typical lentebock is going down the throat. Fine palate.

Rerate, 500 ml can, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 5%. Cloudy / milky yellow colour, large to moderate white head. Strong sweetish and spicy aroma, notes of elderflowers, bananas, bubble gum, citrus, coriander and cloves. The flavour is wheaty and refreshing, notes of banana, cloves and herbs. Very moderate hops. Original rating: I got this served in the Amstedam Arena restaurant in Holland (from bottle) with a slice of lemon in the glass, but suspect it would have a slightly citrussy aroma and flavour even without the slice. Very refreshing, but not enough to be ecstatic about. A bonus point for the cute hamster on the bottle!
