Bottled. A pitch black beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of roasted malt as well as light notes of soy sauce. The flavor is sweet malty with strong notes of roasted malt as well as notes of soy sauce and rood.

Bottled. A pitch balck beer with a brown shine under a brown head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of licorice as well as medium notes of roasted malt. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of roasted malt as well as medium notes of licorice, leading to a dry finish where the licorice note lingers.

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of roasted malt, caramel, and coffee as well as hints of diacethyl. The flavor is sweet malty again with strong notes of roasted malt as well as notes of caramelcoffee, vanilla, and wood, leading to a bitter finish with an alcohol burn.

Bottled. An unclear dark golden beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of grapefruit, as well as medium notes of hops. THe flavor is sweet - yet with an acidity from the strong notes of grapefruit, combining with medium notes of hops, leading to an acidic finish, where the alcohol burns in the throat.

On tap at Crunchy’s, East Lansing. Hazy orange-brown body, thin to non-existent buff head. Light aroma (served too cold) of toast and bitter, citrusy hops. Crisp, toasty body, citrusy and piny, with abundant leafy hops leaving a light astringency in the finish. Light, muddy fruitiness beneath the toast and hops. Not very impressive.

Bottle @ Chris_o shindig 2007. Unclear medium amber color with a average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy hoppy, pine, citrus, fruit. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Black with a light brown head. Roast aroma with some dried fruit, chocolate and spice in it. Roast and dry flavour with some licorice notes. Full body and nice roast finish. Unspectacular for the style.

Bottle @ Chris_o shindig 2007. Medium to dark black color with a average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly lasting, brown head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, chocolate, licorice. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a long duration. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Bottled. Amber colour, small beige head. Aroma is hops, flowery and fruity such along with some caramel, alcohol and a bit of vanilla. Flavour is bigtime alcohol, strong american flowery and fruity hops along with grass.

Bottled. Very dark brown colour with mediumsized brown head. Aroma is red berries, roasted malts, canilla and some fruits. Flavour is very fruity, coffeeish and roasted malty. A bit too sour fruitish.
