Bottle, sent by my good pal Toby in a sweet trade. Thanks man! A darker brown pour topped with a creamy finger of brown head. The nose is to die for; vanilla, milk chocolate, light roast, and espresso. Decadent. Creamy mouthful of sweet milk chocolate with just the right amount of barrel coming through. Very light on the bourbon and faint vanilla. The oak and roast really provides a sturdy balance to the sweetness. Reminds me of a really good chocolate chip cookie. Top notch brew. One of the best barrel-aged brews I’ve had in a while. I wish I would have shared this, but at the same time polishing off the bomber solo over the course of a couple hours wasn’t all bad.

Taste is sweet, slightly bitter, tiny salty, malty and smokey with sweet dark bread, caramel, oatmeal cookies, smoked sausage, dry cured ham, hay, soup stock, moist soil, burnt wood, tar, orange zest and hints of pried pine needles and dried juniper berries. Mouthfeel is soft, round and medium bodied. finish is slightly sweet, slightly bitter, malty and smokey with sweet dark bread, hay, burnt wood, dry cured ham, tar and hints of peat.

Pours deep gold into a stem glass. Bright white head with excellent retention recedes leaving spot lacing to coat surface. Sweet smoke and maple aromas. Soft with sweet caramel and smoke upfront turning to dried bacon in the lasting mildly bitter finish.

Sampled from a 12 oz can this beer poured a dark reddish orange color with a large creamy orange-tan head that lingered and left a bit of lacing. The aroma was tangy, malty and yeasty with faint dark fruit and vegetal malts. The flavor was tangy and sweet toasted caramel, dark fruit, vegetal malts and iced tea. Medium length finish. Moderately full bodied. Ok.

Bra straight forward västkust-IPA.

Mums.
