Taster at 2024 FoBAB. Category: Wild Beer Mixed Culture (acidic). This version is listed as ABV 9.1. A dark Porter color with not as much legs as my previous sampled porter. Slightly tart nose is still pretty pleasant. Not a very tart taste but the then it builds, and seems to linger. The alcohol is not very obvious, but I am sure it's coming to hit me. Settles out like a soured lager beer.

Can, clean fresh smell of slightly yeasty beer. Pour is cloudy light pale, like a witbier. First big swig is certainly pils, but there is this yeasty feeling about it; like a belgian witbier, er sumthin. Yes, a sharper nearly uncivilized pils with a belgian yeasty feel, how unique! Decent carbonation as well. I dint care for the almost astringent sharp pils bite, but the other aspects of this kept me interested to the end. Not bad. Finished with a medium lasting incisive penetrating sharpness, common in many domestic attempts at pils.

From a can. Pours a clear amber with an off white head. Aromas of dank hay. Flavors are bitter but with some offsetting sweetness in the finish.

Surprisingly harsh for 8%. The citrus punch notes are nice, and the piney bitterness on the back end makes for a welcome throwback to IBUs of yore, but the texture’s really an issue here.
