Cask at The Penny Black, JDW Bicester, Oxon. Pours very dark brown with some ruby glints and an off white creamy head to top things off. Starts by tasting sweet, some weak coffee and dark fruits, I suppose its an ok beer but I find it quite thin for the abv and something of nothing.

Cask handpull at Ship & Mitre, Liverpool. Gold, thin white head. Some toffee in this. Quite drinkable, some puckering dryness on finish. Not as yeasty as some Hyde’s I’ve had. Fine.

Cask handpull at Ye Cracke, Liverpool. Gold, lasting pale beige head. Not hugely interesting, some sweaty sox. It’s ok, the hop is tasty, rest is so-so. Bit minerally. Lemon too. Sweaty sox dominate.
