Golden-amber colour. Faint pale malts and very light limey hop notes. Half an ale. I mean, I was trying to write good notes and this is all I found. Yikes.

Rich, thick barley wine with heavy accent on the darker malts. ............

Dark amber colour. Some leafy hop in the nose with light toasty malt notes. Light leafy notes and sweet caramel in the creamy body. Good, but somewhat limited. This beer used to be one of the finest beers in Canada, and an exemplary rendition of the style. The leafy hop notes were more pronounced then - fantastically refreshing and the malt were as juicy as any I’ve ever tasted. It’s slipped.

Hazy golden, light but balanced nose of leafy hops and vaguely caramelly malts. Light bitterness, well balanced but a pretty far cry from IPA level hopping. Given that this is the brewery’s hoppiest offering, and this is a good beer city in Cascadia, this blandness in unforgiveable. This beer used to be better.
