Description
Started brewing in August 2008 on the site of the Sweet William brewery at the William IV pub in Leyton. Regular outlets include the William IV, the Old Coffee House (Soho) and the Crosse Keys (Covent Garden). In 2018 Brodies sold the King William IV in Leyton and contracted out beer production to Rhymney Brewery in South Wales.

Bottle (from Ales by Mail). Hazy yellowish golden colour with a small white head. Aroma is mild tart fruitiness, some green apple skins and also a bit herbs. Flavour is sour wood, some fruity tartness with mild herbal and acidic tones too.

Keg at Cotteridge Wines (28th birthday bash) Bingo-Cotts Convention, 08/07/23. Clear golden blonde with an off white cap that thins to a swirl. Nose is pale malts, straw, grains, herb, lemon nip. Taste comprises hedgerow, pale and bready malts, grass, grains, herb. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent enough pils.

Keg at Cotts. Aroma is malty, grainy. Sour streak. Clear copper gold. Thin foamy white head thins out. Citrus sourness, with a sweet fruit and malts. Light-medium bodied. Slick if thin. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long dry finish.

Tap at cotteridge wines. A clear pale gold coloured pour with a lasting fine small white head. Aroma is earthy grains, straw, grassy loose hops, nettle, grass. Flavour is composed of grassy hop, earthy pils grains, spicy hop finish,. Palate is spicy hop, fine powdery carbonation. Ok.

Canned. Orangeish golden colour with a small white foamy head. Aroma is grass, herbs, some floral and mild wooden notes. Flavour is some sweet and crisp malts with some florla, grassy, herbal and mildly resiny notes.

Canned. Black colour, small beigeish brown head. Aroma is chocolate, some toffee, mild creamy notes as well as some mild toasted notes. Flavour is chocolate, some toasted notes, creamy very nicely herbal notes with some slight plumlike sweetness too.
