From tap at Noordelijk Kerst- en Winterbierenfestival 2017. Aroma is roasty with cocoa, milk chocolate, dark malt, caramel, and lactose. Flavour is not too sweet for the style with a light roasty bitterness. Body is a bit above medium, not a sign of alcohol. Lots of chocolate flavours in this one, well done Brouwdok!

Bottle from Drankenspeciaalzaak Jelle, Leeuwarden. Aroma is spicy yeasty and soapy with bready pale malt, coriander, citrus. Flavour is medium sweet with a sharp moderate bitterness. Body is medium. Okay-ish Tripel, some nice bitter citrus peel, but I'm not too fond of the soapy element.

From tap at 6e Noordelijk Lentebierenfestival, Leeuwarden. Aroma is creamy whey with sticky malt, fripe fruity notes, lactose and dairy. Flavour is sweet with a decent long bitterness. Body is creamy and sturdy. Very unique if you dig a large dose of dairy in your beer.

From tap at at 6e Noordelijk Lentebierenfestival, Leeuwarden. Aroma is fairly hoppy with floral notes, grainy malt, sweetish ripe tropical-ish fruits, and some caramel. Moderate to medium sweet flavour with a pretty firm bitterness. Body is medium. Not bad.

From bottle at 9e Noordelijk Kerst- en Winterbieren Festival, Hoogeveen. Aroma is thick chocolate with roasted malt, coffee, mocha, and notes of chocolate cake. Flavour is roasty bittersweet. Body is almost full, carbonation just a bit more lively than appropriate. Wow, a notch above their fine Stout The Dude, making it the best BrouwDOK beer to date.

From tap at 9e Noordelijk Kerst- en Winterbieren Festival, Hoogeveen. Aroma is bready malt with caramel, soft spicy notes, and lightly floral-ish hops. Sweetish but with a pleasant hoppy bitterness. Medium body. Agreeable beer, good balance between malt and bittering hops.

Bottle from BiervanEijk, Frederiksoord. Aroma is yeasty, some banana, pale malt, some floral notes. Light sugary, candied fruit. Hint of honey. Moderate to medium sweet, light bitter. Medium body. Pretty decent Blond.

Bottle from De Baron Van Wolvega. As Brouwdok Rauch Märzen Smook, abv 5.9%. Smoked malt aroma with notes of caramel, leather and smoked bacon. A hint of fruits. Flavour is moderate bittersweet, body is medium. Well done Brouwdok, right up my chimney.

Bottle from De Baron Van Wolvega. Raisins upfront with some nice rum barrel notes. Brown malt, caramel, some oak. Some dried fruits. Medium sweet, lightly bitter. Body is medium. Very nice, good balance between barrel and Bock.

Bottle from BiervanEijk, Frederiksoord. Aroma is piney hop with malt, some ripe-ish fruits including orange and grapefruit. Soft pine resin with a hint of caramel and marmalade. Flavour is pretty bitter with a light sweetness. Medium body. Could be a bit more fruity, pine and bitterness are nice though.
