This is an unexciting Lager, much better fresh in Mexico than what arrives here, but unexciting nevertheless. There are better Mexican beers than this one.

Appearance is amber, with very little head. Smell is sweetly grassy and malty. Taste is a bit metallic, but not overwhelming. Nothing extraordinary here. Drinkable, but not something to enjoy.

Can - I never saw this in Mexico so that should tell us something. This is watered down beer for the gringos - no self-respecting Mexican would drink this.

Bottle and can. The secret to Tecate (or basically any Mexican beer) is to only buy it in Mexico - much better in Mexico - I don’t know what the importer do - most likely they keep it in hot warehouses for months at a time In Mexico (which is what my rating is based on), it has a decent malt aroma with smooth flavor and not much bitterness - really not much different than US macros. In the states, sour malt aroma (not nearly as skunky as Corona though). Light malt flavor with high carbonation. The increased availability of Mexican beers has really helped the quality, for what its worth. Add the lime to hide that this is just a typical cheap pale lager.

The greatest thing about Carta Blanca is you have to buy it in Mexico in the short, stubby bottle - they make the bottles with a little indentation on the bottom so you can put one bottle on top of the other and open them - a pretty simple idea but I think its pure genius. Beer is pretty good as well - nice malt/hops flavor - not too strong - pleasant mild beer.

Bottle - Slight sweet malt aroma. LIght yellow color with small head. Sour malt with moderate hops finish. The best readily available Mexican pilsener/lager in the states.

A damn nice bottle. Light corny barley malt aroma. Golden yellow with large white head. Sweet light corn syrup and very light malt flavor.Still better than Corona - not skunked.

Bottle - nice middle of the road lager. Sour malt aroma. Golden yellow color with small head. Clean light barley malt flavor with slight hops finish. I can’t understand why Corona is more popular than this - a decent pale lager.

Bottle. Basically a good straight forward beer - fairly middle of the road. Decent malt/hop aroma. Smooth drinking with a nice flavor - much better in Mexico than in the states.

Bottle. Not much aroma and average color. Nice light tasting beer with well balanced malt and hops. A very nice Mexican beer. However, never seen it in the states.
