Waterloo Beer is brewed with care in the Mont-Saint-Jean farm, the famous 'English Hospital' of the Battle of Waterloo. More than ever, this high-quality beer is a symbol of authenticity, craftsmanship and courage. In 1815, during the famous conflict, the troops were supplied with high-fermented beer that gave them strength and courage to face each other. 330ml bottle. Crystal clear golden body, declining white head, poor lacing. Inviting smell of bread-like malts and herbal hops. Fine blended taste of spiced fruit, Belgian yeast and white bread. 330ml bottle, as Double Brune 8 % abv. Pours a deep dark brownish body, spotty lacing from a decent fawn-coloured head. Inviting aromas of caramel malts, lightly roasted. Quite intense flavours, impacts of caramel, dark fruits, carefully spiced. Smoothly roasted, mid-sweet finish. Likeable evening sipper. (Tromsø, 21.08.2026).

440ml can from Noz Nieppe. Pours a clear gold, large white head. Quite like it, not cloying or overly sweet.. nicely balanced with a natural peach murmur lingering on the finish. Even though it is probably the artificial flavouring used.

400ml can from Noz Nieppe. Pours a deep blood red, pink-tinged head. Quite decent, I must say. Cherry cake filling, cherry Bakewell, and other assorted cakey cherry flavours coming to mind. Much prefer to other such cherry beers doing the rounds.

Bottle, 9%. Good malt, vanilla, hay, baking yeast aroma. Cloudy dark golden colour. Very big, creamy, rocky white head. The flavour is malty and sweetish with a mild alcohol note. Flowery hops, fresh baking yeast. Rough and sour finish, but the rest was good.

Bottle, 8%. Ok refreshing cherry aroma, slightly acidic and slightly pungent. Hazy dark red colour. Small creamy off-white head with a red hue. The flavour is quite sweet and fairly alcoholic. Has some alcohol bitterness, but not unpleasant as such. Late cherry syrup notes with a bready, beery bitterness.
