Description
Waterloo Beer is brewed with care in the Mont-Saint-Jean farm, the famous 'English Hospital' of the Battle of Waterloo. More than ever, this high-quality beer is a symbol of authenticity, craftsmanship and courage. In 1815, during the famous conflict, the troops were supplied with high-fermented beer that gave them strength and courage to face each other. Two centuries later, Anthony Martin is proud to revisit this moment in history by reviving the local beer quality, prepared strictly according to the original recipe: Waterloo – beer of bravery!

Where: Del Haize, Waterloo. At home after watching the reenactment of the 1815 battle.
Fast disappearing foam.Red brown.
Cherry aroma. Ripe cherry flavour, weird ending. Some artificial flavours going on. Some acidic artificial lemon.
Body is average.
Observations: I was expecting a better beer. Too many non conventional and artificial flavours. More enjoyable as soda than a pure beer. Is quite drinkable though

I don't consume sugar regularly ,like every normal and decent person should , and I find these kind of sugary beers boring. Taste is brown sugar, caramel, roasted malts. Without all the sugar perhaps the beer would be better ( for me )

A classical and generous tripel, warm alcohol, malty, fruity, side of plum, a bit syrupy, classical hop, to enjoy step by step, sweet, sugar, Belgian touch. 15.12.2020, in one coop in Bern probably, drinking it at home, Epalinges.

330ml bottle. Pours the clear brown/red that they say with a good tan head that lasts ok & looks great. Aroma is strong; dark malts, some booze & some wood. Beer is light medium in body with the ABV giving it a bit more heft. The sweetness is not OTT and if you are looking for a warm, moderately sweet brown ale then this ticks most of the boxes. If you want a hop forward brown ale with a dry bitter finish look elsewhere.

Pours a hazy yellow with a big white head. Typical Belgian aroma of citrus, fruits, yeast, light malts, sweet spices, especially coriander. Flavour is similar, rather sweet. Its relative lightness makes it more of a Belgian Blonde than a Tripel.

Bottiglia.

[as Waterloo Double Dark]. Bottiglia. Al naso l'aroma rimanda all'orzo tostato.
