Description
Waterloo Beer is brewed with care in the Mont-Saint-Jean farm, the famous 'English Hospital' of the Battle of Waterloo. More than ever, this high-quality beer is a symbol of authenticity, craftsmanship and courage. In 1815, during the famous conflict, the troops were supplied with high-fermented beer that gave them strength and courage to face each other. Two centuries later, Anthony Martin is proud to revisit this moment in history by reviving the local beer quality, prepared strictly according to the original recipe: Waterloo – beer of bravery!

Waterloo - I was defeated, you won the war Waterloo - Promise to love you for ever more Waterloo - Couldn't escape if I wanted to Waterloo - Knowing my fate is to be with you Waterloo - Finally facing my Waterloo

330ml bottle. Minimally cloudy, orange golden colour with average to huge, frothy, osteoporosing, minimally lacing, white head. Slightly grainy, pale and wheaty malty, slightly yeasty fruity aroma, hints of yellow stone fruit, cereals, slight muesli character, grassy hoppy overtones. Taste is sweet-ish, pale and wheaty malty, yeasty fruity and slightly yeasty spicy, mildly bitter hoppy, hints of yellow stone fruit, berries; lingering, bitter and minimally warming, alcoholic finish. Minimalyl creamy, watery texture, smooth and soft, simultaneously slightly dry palate, medium, mildly prickly carbonation. Simple but not boring, focussed, well hopped - very nice.

33cl bottle in Cambrinus, Brugge on 6th September 2022. Red hue to the dark brown body, decent beige topping that hung around. Boozy and malty, caramel like esters in fact, the nose telling you this is a strong one. Taste also malty and boozy.
