Waterloo Beer is brewed with care in the Mont-Saint-Jean farm, the famous 'English Hospital' of the Battle of Waterloo. More than ever, this high-quality beer is a symbol of authenticity, craftsmanship and courage. In 1815, during the famous conflict, the troops were supplied with high-fermented beer that gave them strength and courage to face each other. On tap at Le Wellington, Waterloo, on the shadow of the Lion's Mound. A pale golden pour with a rocky, off-white head. Aroma is intense but simple: quince, conifer. Period. Soft and refreshing, meidum-bodied, neither very bitter nor long. It drinks more like a pale ale than a tripel, if you ask me.

0,33 l bottle from my Lidl haul a few weeks ago. Cloudy dark golden with an huge foamy head. Sweet spicy smell. Taste is sweet fruity malty. Little bit alcoholic. Decent hop with some bitterness to the end. Nice!

Das belgische Dörfchen Waterloo und die dazugehörige Schlacht ist wohlbekannt und es wundert nicht, dass ein belgisches Bier diesen Titel bekam. Es ist ein wirklich süßes, malziges Bier nach dem Blonde-Stil. Diese Noten sind gut komponiert, aber läßt wenig PLatz für mehr. Besonders die klassisch belgischen Gewürznoten fehlen mir ein bisschen. Deonnoch kein übler Belgier.
