Description
Originally from Sainte-Croix en Plain, the Alsatian Sainte Crucienne brewery first saw the light of day in 2007 during a boozy evening, thanks to a band of idealistic friends eager to create different and very hoppy beers. At the start of their adventure, they started by brewing 20 liters of beers, then 100, then 600. It was not until 2013 that the brewery officially started in its premises in Colmar, in just three years the volume of production has doubled to reach 3000 hl today.

They share this success with a whole community of independent brewers who are part of the Front Hexagonal de Libièration, with whom they continue to work. The goal is to multiply collaborations and unique brews to create an ever more original beer in taste and participate in the revolution of the world of craft beers.

Bottle shared at Maakun’s. Clear golden with white head. Sweet malts, grapefruit and resiny sweetness. Quite sweet and bitter. Over medium body and soft carbonation, smooth creamy. I like this old school stuff. --- Beer merged from original tick of Steal This Beer on 11 Jan 2020 at 02:40 - Score: 7. Original review text: Clear golden with white head. Bottle shared at home. Clear golden with big fluffy off white head. Sweet malts, dank weedy hops, light cheese, grapefruit peel, orange, soft grassy, caramel, dried flowers. Over medium sweet and bitter. Over medium bodied with oily feel. Classic style DIPA, it's decent but not great.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours an almost clear amber with a smallish, off-white head. Subtle aroma of German smoke. Medium body, quite minerally, slightly nutty with a rather bitter finish. The smokiness unfolds a little more but remains fairly subtle. 080120

Bottle at home. Clear golden with white head. Grapefruit, light grassy, soft caramel, crispy fresh bread crust, light flowery. Just medium sweet and over medium bitter. Medium bodied with crisp and oily feel. Pretty good pale ale, classic and very drinkeable. I like it.

Bottle shared at home. But hazy dark golden with short lasting white head. Sweet malts, massive thyme, rosemary, sage, light yeasty, caramel, bread. Medium sweet and bitter. Solid medium bodied. Quite OK but a bit too much thyme for me.

Ondanks dat het weekend is wordt het voor deze lastig om een voldoende te scoren. Als een bek vol broeierige hooi.

On tap at Beer O'Clock Chamonix. Pinkish to peachy coloured with a modest, white head. Fresh raspberries and some slightly funky notes. Sour, refreshing and quite tasty.
