Sainte Cru - Brasserie Sainte Crucienne

Microbrewery in Colmar, Grand Est, France 🇫🇷

Established in 2013

Description
Originally from Sainte-Croix en Plain, the Alsatian Sainte Crucienne brewery first saw the light of day in 2007 during a boozy evening, thanks to a band of idealistic friends eager to create different and very hoppy beers. At the start of their adventure, they started by brewing 20 liters of beers, then 100, then 600. It was not until 2013 that the brewery officially started in its premises in Colmar, in just three years the volume of production has doubled to reach 3000 hl today.

They share this success with a whole community of independent brewers who are part of the Front Hexagonal de Libièration, with whom they continue to work. The goal is to multiply collaborations and unique brews to create an ever more original beer in taste and participate in the revolution of the world of craft beers.

Can shared. Hazy orange golden. Peach, light citrus, sugary, bitter grassy hops, alcohol. Medium seeet, boozy bitter. Medium bodied. Feels like more than 7% abv, this is a bit disappointing...

Can shared. Bit hazy light golden. Marzipan, boost, peach, orange zest, light berries, mango. Solid sweet, less bitter. Full bodied, boozy finish. Seems more like a strong ale of some kind, very boozy.

In my opinion, it is a really delicious white IPA, a perfect mix between the wheat and the hop, a bit sparkling, notes of grapefruit, good!!, 06.03.17, finding this one, at Amstein, trying it at Lausanne, Prélaz.

Draught @ Brasserie du Pays Flamand, Merville. Pours a hazed golden orange, medium white head. Smooth, moderately sweet, very well balanced, nicely presented hop profile, good exotic hop character. Lovely.
